Amy and Chris tied the knot December 19. 2009! Their ceremony was held at St. Louis Church and the reception was at the Barr Mansion. Vendors included Joe Simon Productions, Central Market floral, and Vintage Rides of Austin. Really, this wedding has me speechless. I’ve known Amy and Chris for some time, and it was truly an honor that she asked me to photograph her wedding. A photographer herself, and an amazing one at that, I was really REALLY nervous for this wedding. I wanted everything to be PER-FECT. Chris and his boys were total hams for the camera, and Amy and the gals were total eye candy. I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding party to have fun with! I love Amy’s focus on colors, vintage, and all the little details. Of course it was awesome to have Edward and his baby blue Cadillac. And shooting at the Barr is always a treat. And it was awesome to shoot along Joe Simon’s videography. I absolutely admire his work. And and and, I could go on and on!! I’ll let the photos speak for themselves!

Claudia and Matthew married November 14, 2009. They had their ceremony at St. Albert the Great Church and their reception was at Villa Antonia. This was such an epic wedding, so my apologies for the massive blog post. From the gorgeous church to the beautiful reception grounds – from the amazingly photogenic wedding party to all of the colorful details, this was such a fun wedding to shoot. The vendors were Bouquets of Austin, Cakes by Kathy, River City Soul, and Vintage Rides of Austin provided the ‘Godfather.’ I just loved the attention to detail that Claudia’s mom provided with all of the decorations…the peacock feathers, the candy table, and all of the sparkly things. And in case you were curious, that’s Claudia’s brother providing the laughs, with his Risky Business rendition. So. Much. Fun!!

I’ve known Amy for a little while now, and I was absolutely thrilled when she asked me to be her wedding photog. I was even more thrilled when I found out about her funky, off-beat ideas for a retro engagement session. I love getting the opportunity work with a bride who really wants to think outside the traditional wedding box. Plus, it’s a great chance to redefine a lot of the classic and oft-photographed Austin spots. We hit a ton of locations ended up shooting for about 4 hours, and capped it all off with some margaritas! Some of those locations include: Nau’s Enfield Drug, Doc’s, Amy’s Ice Cream (I just love the little pun here!), the So-Co district, Roadhouse Relics, and a few secret spots too! Also, while outside of Jo’s Coffeehouse, we happened upon a couple who happened to own a ‘55 Porche. They were nice enough to let us use it as a prop. Perfect! I had a blast, and love how the pictures came out. I hope you love them too!!

Ashley and Arash walked down the aisle September 12, 2009. This was my second wedding at Vintage Villas in as many weeks. And again, the weather did not feel like cooperating. I’ve shot at Vintage Villas about a dozen times this year, and I continue to be amazed at how well they put a wedding together, and how well they roll with the punches. Despite the inclement weather, Ashley refused to let it get her down. The ceremony was held in the sunset room, and looked absolutely gorgeous. As the party came to a close, one of the younger family members sang Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” with the band as a send-off. It was so awesome that I expect to see her on American Idol soon! Simon Lee made the cakes, and Bouquets of Austin designed the flower arrangements. It was great working with Round Rock Video, as well. Congrats, you two!!

Katie and Chad tied the knot September 4, 2009. Their wedding was at Vintage Villas. The weather that day was threatening rain and heavy thunderstorms. The the couple and the facility made the 11th hour decision to move the wedding inside. Of course, as soon as that call was made, the power went out…no lights, no music, and no A/C! Since Chad is a musician, I talked to him about singing as Katie walked down the aisle. As she made her entrance, he started singing “Amazing Grace” and the guests all harmonized. Even with this huge obstacle, it couldn’t have turned out more perfectly. I had goosebumps! As soon as she got to the stage and her dad (who was also the minister) started speaking, the power came back on. Amazing! This was such a fun wedding…a great and lively wedding party, gorgeous flowers and decor, and even a rainbow after the ceremony. Congrats Katie and Chad!!
