Stephanie and Daniel are getting married next month, and I’m really excited to be their wedding photographer! For their engagement session, we started at Austin Music Hall where they met for the first time. We walked around the West side of downtown Austin before heading to Congress, and I had a great time laughing with them and getting to know them better. Their wedding is going to be awesome! Allie + Chris = Engaged! A Garden Party Proposal

I was so excited when I got the call from CLINK that they were putting on a surprise marriage proposal and celebration for Allie and Chris. I was even more excited when I found out all of the details, that Chris had planned to have all of their immediate family there to surprise Allie. He had set it all up that the couple was going to have a picnic at San Michele. He brilliantly sold it to her that I was there because I was getting my lighting prepped for the next day’s wedding. He had her turned with her back to the venue, and their family members slowly walked up behind them. She turned around, and a flood of emotion hit everyone! Nicely done, Chris! After nerves gave way to confidence, he dropped to one knee and popped the big question. And she said YES! The rest of the afternoon was a fun celebration, with tons of laughter and ear-to-ear smiles. Congratulations!!

Katy + Matt = Engaged! A South Congress Austin TX Engagement Session

Katy and Matt are tying the knot later this year, and I’m really excited that they chose me to be their photographer. I can’t lie…I get nervous when I shoot other photographers, but I think their engagement photos turned out great! We mainly stuck to the favorite South Congress spots, and we just had a lot of laughs while getting to know each other!

Kelly + Troy = Engaged! – An Austin engagement session

Elaine + Mike = Engaged! An Austin engagement session

I met Elaine a few years ago, while she was working for Wild Bunches Floral. We had bumped into each other at a few open houses over that time. Well fast forward to now, when I received the email from her that she was getting married and that she wanted me to be the photographer for her wedding, I was so excited! For their engagement session, we wanted to incorporate things that were special to them. So, we started with a little bit of tennis. And as a nod to to all of our personalities, the pictures came out fun and a little silly! We then headed over to South Congress, swung by Homeslice, and finished up at the Long Center with their pups. I had so much fun hanging out with them during their session, and their wedding promises to be a crazy fun party!

Ashley + James = Engaged! A vintage Austin engagement session

Ashley and James are having their wedding this August in HAWAII!! I am so thrilled that they asked me to come along to capture what will be a sublimely romantic and sweet day! They had originally planned a San Antonio wedding, but decided to scrap those plans and opt for a destination wedding that was more their style. When they originally booked me for their stateside wedding, they were scared that I wouldn’t be up for Hawaii. AS IF! For their engagement session, they wanted to do something else that spoke to their style: a vintage-themed engagement! We hopped from spot to spot and incorporated some of the local favorites and even happened upon a classic pink car (some of you gear-heads might be able to tell me what make and model that is). Working with them for their engagement session has me seriously excited for their Hawaii destination wedding, and I cannot wait!

For their engagement session, Clare wanted a very rustic quintessential Texas kind of feel, so we went to Old Settlers Park up in Round Rock, TX.

Roxanne + Keith = Engaged!

Katie and George are getting married at the Hummingbird House here in Austin, TX, and I’m thrilled to be their wedding photographer! For their engagement session, I met them at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth. From there, we went to the nearby Botanical Garden at wrapped the day up there. Even though it was really windy, and the threat of rain loomed, we still managed to get some great shots. Here are some of my faves!

Alison + Shawn = Engaged! A proposal turned engagement session!

Alison and Shawn got engaged on April 23, 2011, and I was there to witness it! This marks something completely different for me, where a client asked me to document his proposal. Shawn set the whole day up as a birthday present for his girlfriend, Alison. They were going to meet me at the Wild Seed Farm in Fredericksburg, and we were just going to take some portrait shots in and among the flowers. Once we got to the field of poppy flowers, he dropped to one knee and popped the question! I have to admit, I got a little misty-eyed! We then spent the rest of the day shooting, wine tasting, and sharing lots of laughs. They’re a super fun couple, and I am so excited for them both!! Congrats!!

Stephanie and David are getting married in just a few weeks at Granberry Hills in San Antonio. For their engagement session, I met them where they live and go to school in San Marcos, Texas. I had a great time shooting there because I just love shooting at new locations. It’s like being a kid in a candy store. I also got to experiment a little more with my new tilt-shift lens! Stephanie and David are such a fun couple, a little bit goofy, and a whole lot of sweet. I can’t wait for their wedding!!

Rachel and Mike are tying the knot in October, in Houston, Texas! I’ve known Rachel for years through friends, and when I got the call from her that she wanted me to be her wedding photographer, I was thrilled! For Rachel and Mike’s engagement session, we started at The University of Texas, and then made our way down to Auditorium Shores for some sweet photos in the dwindling sun. I had a fantastic time working with them, and I can’t wait for their wedding!

Tracy + John = Engaged!

Tracy and John’s wedding is next weekend! Instead of doing a full-blown engagement session, we opted for a ‘mini’ session with their sweet dogs out in a field near to where I live. Their dogs, Cabell the Black Lab; Badger the sweet old Great Dane; and Sawyer the Red Border Collie; were so well-behaved despite being in a field with so many sights, sounds and noises. I had a great time working with Tracy and John and their ‘kids,’ and I’m really looking forward to their wedding at the German Free School. Congrats!!
