Vanessa + Chris! A St. Edward’s University Church wedding and Austin Club Reception

Vanessa and Chris tied the knot on December 10, 2011! Theirs was a beautiful Christmas-themed wedding, and it was a wonderful way to cap off a very successful 2011 year! They had their ceremony at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at St. Edwards University and their reception was held at The Austin Club in downtown Austin, TX. I had been excited for this wedding ever since they booked me. And it was so nice working with such a fun and kind-hearted couple. Vanessa’s bridals were some of my favorite of the year, and their wedding kept that momentum going! She smartly incorporated the theme of Christmas into her wedding tastefully, but without hesitation. I loved all of her use of the red and white throughout the wedding, from the shoes, to her beautiful anemone bouquet. We even took advantage of the red door at St. Edwards! Katie + George! A Hummingbird House Wedding

Katie and George had their beautiful wedding at the Hummingbird House in Austin, TX on November 19, 2011. This was one of my favorite weddings of the year! Katie and George were so easy to work with, and all of their friends and family were so much fun! The Hummingbird House is a fantastic wedding venue, and Lauren was a pleasure to work with there. I loved all of the soft natural colors and muted elegant tones that Katie designed her wedding with. Fabian Salcedo from The Flower Studio did an amazing job with the arrangements. And the cake by Simon Lee was delicious! And whoa, what a party! Dysfunkshun Junkshun kept the dance floor loud and packed! They are so awesome! Rachel + Mike! Trinity Episcopal Church and Cohen House – Rice University Reception in Houston, Texas

Rachel and Mike had their wedding on October 29, 2011! Jessica + Matt! St. Wedding at Emmaus Catholic Church – Reception at Hudson’s on the Bend – private residence

Jessica and Matt had their wedding on October 22, 2011. Their ceremony was held at St. Emmaus in Austin, TX and their reception was held at the private residence of Jeff Blank, the chef/owner of Hudson’s on the Bend. I had an incredible time working with Jessica and Matt, and I’m thrilled that I am able to tell their story. And this story is a fun one, too. This wedding had it all: laughter, tears, so much love, a gospel choir, incredible food, some non-stop partying, and a dip in the pool. And now the shoutouts: Huge thanks to Barbara of Barbara’s Brides for her coordination leading up to the wedding, as well as connecting me to Jessica and Matt; also thanks to her day-of coordinator Kristi Treadwell. Wonderful job! Rochelle Rae of Rae Cosmetics did Jessica’s makeup, flawlessly, I might add. The stunning arrangements were designed by the ever amazing Bouquets of Austin. Brittany and Ramsey tied the knot on October 8, 2011 at The Gardens at West Green in San Antonio, TX. When I woke up that morning, the first thing I did was check the weather…and my heart sunk a little bit. We hadn’t gotten any substantial rain in months and months – and of course, as soon as the peak wedding season rolled around, there it was. Thankfully, everyone was still in good spirits, and all of us banded together to make this a wonderful wedding, regardless of anything outside of our control. The weather seemed to cooperate when we really needed it to. And, I’d even say that we capitalized on the weather by getting a few cute umbrella shots. I loved all of Brittany’s personalized touches to make this a really special wedding for her family and friends. Danielle and Jesse tied the knot October 7, 2011 at Marquardt Ranch in Bourne, TX. This was such a fun wedding, and all the credit in the world goes to this wonderful couple! Marquardt is a beautiful venue, with tons of spots to shoot at. They did a great job with all of their DIY personal touches. Those hand-made signs and that wooden cross at the altar were really well-done. The dance floor was packed as everyone Whooped! it up Aggie style! How fun! Megan + Jess! A Wild Onion Ranch Wedding

Megan and Jess tied the knot back in May of 2011 at Wild Onion Ranch, and now that the photos have made their way to publication on Style Me Pretty, I am happy to share these with the world. First of all, HUUUGE thanks to Stacy Sodolak of SMS Photography for asking me to be her second shooter for this wedding! Talk about eye candy! Petal Pushers did an amazing job with the arrangements. I love the vintage look with the antique vases and jars, and the succulents were a perfect touch. Caplan Miller did the gorgeous wedding design and event coordination. And Johnny Cooper kept our toes tapping all night!

Marissa + Danny! A St. Thomas More Wedding and Lakeway Resort and Spa Reception

Marissa and Danny had their wedding on July 30, 2011. Their ceremony was held at St. Thomas More Catholic church, and their reception was held at Lakeway Resort and Spa. Of all of the fine Austin wedding photographers in this city, I’m so thrilled that they chose me! Their engagement portrait session is up there among my all-time favorites, and Marissa was so wonderful to work with at her bridal portrait session. I loved her eye for detail at this wedding, from the cute Etsy-made garter to all of the hand-made signs and details. Speaking of, Petal Pushers did an amazing job with the design of the flower arrangements, and the cake by Michelle’s Patisserie was beautiful and delish! Altared Weddings did the DJ’ing, and kept the floor hopping. Lastly, huge huge thanks to Jessica Monnich of Jessica Monnich Photography for second-shooting on this one. Marissa’s Bridals – Bridal session at Laguna Gloria and Jennifer’s Garden

Marissa and Danny tied the knot yesterday at St. Thomas More Catholic church, and they had their reception at Lakeway Resort and Spa. Now that they’re married, I can share Marissa’s wonderful bridal portraits with you. We started the shoot at Laguna Gloria for the indoor settings. The outdoor portion was shot at Jennifer’s Garden. The bouquet was designed by Petal Pushers. Big thanks to Madeleine Meyer of Posey Floral for sharing her mother’s venue with us.

Katelyn + Justin! A Manchaca United Methodist Church ceremony and Creekside Pavillion reception

Katelyn and Justin had their wedding June 25, 2011. Their ceremony was held at Manchaca United Methodist Church in Manchaca and their reception was held at Creekside Pavillion in Driftwood. Both venues are just a stone’s throw from Austin. I had a wonderful time working with Katelyn and Justin, during their wedding planning. Both are incredibly relaxed and a breeze to work with, and that really makes my job an easy one! The cakes were provided by Classic Cakes by Lori, and the floral arrangements by Creative Petal Designs. Also, huge thanks to my awesome assistant, Kristin Farwell. Alexis + Josh! A Villa Antonia wedding

Alexis and Josh had their wedding on June 10, 2011 at Villa Antonia. I’ve loved getting to know Alexis and Josh through the whole wedding planning process. And their engagement photos are some of my favorite from last year. The first time I met them, I found out that they were from Nebraska (GO BIG RED!). Since that’s my old stomping ground too, I knew it was fate! Their wedding at Villa Antonia featured some gorgeous scenery, beautiful flowers, delicious food, and DONUTS!! I loved Josh’s groom’s cake. What a fun idea! Alexis looked absolutely stunning with her gorgeous hair and makeup, and I fell in love with her dress from Blush Bridal Lounge. Love those gals! I’m so happy that they decided to have a first look, so that they could get the formal photos out of the way. That way, there was a seamless transition between the ceremony and reception. Andrea + Shawn! A St. Mary’s Cathedral wedding and Villa St. Clair reception

Andrea and Shawn had their wedding June 4, 2011 right here in Austin, TX! The ceremony was held at St. Mary’s Cathedral, and the reception at Villa St. Clair. I got some amazing photos throughout the whole wedding process with this great couple. In case you missed it, here are there engagement photos as well as Andrea’s bridals. St. Mary’s Cathedral is always a stunning place to shoot, and it’s one of my favorite churches in the city. After the ceremony we drove to a few spots downtown to get some beautiful portraits with the bridal party. And then we headed to Villa St. Clair. It was my first time shooting there, but hopefully not my last. I loved it! The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and they even do beautiful flowers! The lovely cake was contributed by Classic Cakes by Lori, and DJ Presley kept the dance floor packed! Congrats Andrea and Shawn!

Stephanie + David! A Granberry Hills wedding

Alexis and Chris had their wedding in Austin, TX on May 21, 2011. The ceremony was held at St. David’s Episcopal Church, and the reception was held at Chateau Bellevue, both located in downtown Austin. I worked with Alexis and Chris for their engagement session, as well as Alexis’s bridal session at Chateau Bellevue, and had such a great time getting to know them. They and their families are full of heart! The day couldn’t have been more relaxed, thanks to the fantastic coordinating of Kristi Treadwell of Buon Affare. Tracy + John! A German Free School Wedding

Tracy and John had their wedding on May 14, 2011 at the German Free School in downtown Austin, TX. This was a wonderfully simple intimate family affair, and the German Free School is a perfect setup for this type of wedding. Everyone was so relaxed throughout the day. Just tons of smiles and laughter! The delicious food was created by Austin Catering. There was antipasti, some amazing shortribs, and a fantastic candy bar!
