Bea + Peco = Engaged! Austin Engagement session

Bea and Peco are getting married in just a few weeks here in Austin! I’m so excited be their wedding photographers…it’s going to be nothing short of incredible! For their e-session, I wanted to try out a few new spots. Bea with her wardrobe in tow, and Peco carrying her cutsie pink bag were such good sports in humoring me and my creative whims. With my assistant Kristin at my side, we hit West 6th Street and then doubled back down 5th Street. There are so many great hidden spots, I can’t wait to explore this area more. The last spot we shot at was an old railroad bridge that’s now just a segment of railroad, suspended over Shoal Creek. I was so into this part of the shoot that for a second I forgot exactly where I should be putting my footing…you know…photographer-with-camera-up-to-eye-losing-all-touch-with-his-peripherals. My left leg went right between two railroad ties and I nearly fell through, catching most of the weight of the fall with my left knee, which is now black and bruised. I came crashing down, glasses flying off, camera bouncing off the railroad ties (thankfully I had my hand around the strap), and my left flip-flop fell about 30 feet to the creek below. Bea shouts out, “Are you okay? Is the camera okay??” Thankfully my camera and I were both fine. That could have been a much much worse situation. And Peco saved the day by going down to Shoal creek below to retrieve my flip-flop!

Kristin - Love them! These are great. Bummed I missed the entire shoot, especially the epic ending. Glad Peco rescued your flip-flop.
