Wow! 2011 was a really amazing year! I had some seriously fun shoots, and worked with some absolutely wonderful couples. I am still so pleased by the fact that I have such a fun job, and I am in love with what I do. I sincerely hope that it comes through in each and every photograph that I capture. Like last year, it was really difficult to narrow down to the best of the best, because every shoot and every wedding holds so many ‘favorites’ that I include on my blog. So, if you will bear with me, I narrowed it down to around 100 photos again this year, to highlight my 2011. I continue to be grateful for all of the relationships I’ve developed, the people I’ve had the opportunity to work with, and all of the incredibly magical moments that I’ve witnessed. Thank you all for your unfailing support! Here’s to an even better 2012! Peace and love.

Engagements

It’s all about you, your love, and it’s about me getting to know you too! Here are my favorite engagement photos from 2011. From simply sweet, to tastefully stylized, engagement photos should be an expression of your personality.

Bridals

What a fun way to have a trial run with your hair, makeup, flowers, and gorgeous dress. Not every bride decides to have a bridal session, but for those that do, this part’s for you.

Details

I love details! The flowers, the dress, those sexy shoes, and things that sparkle! Yes, please!

The Bride Getting Ready

This is one of my favorite parts of the wedding day. There is so much excitement and nervous energy in the bridal room. Tears flow, laughter erupts, champagne corks pop.

The Groom Getting Ready

Never to be overlooked, the wedding day is as much about the groom as it is the bride. But I can’t tell everything that goes on in the groom’s room. I’ve taken an oath. If I did tell you, I’d have to kill you.

Ceremony

Well, it’s all built up to this moment. The vows, the exchanging of the rings, the symbolism of two becoming one.

Portraiture

I do! Now let’s take some romantic, lovey, sweet, intimate, and romantic photos. Yes, I said romantic twice! I think you get the idea.

The Bridal Party

No wedding is a party unless there is an awesome group of friends to help you celebrate. It’s about having a blast, letting loose, and being there for the bride and groom on their big day.

The Cakes

I haven’t met a cake that I haven’t liked. Or cupcake. or donut. Mmmm….cake.

The First Dance

Here’s your moment. All eyes are on you. Are you going to do it up ballroom style? Classic arm in arm? Or perhaps something choreographed?

Party Time!

The party is jumping, the music is thumping, the drinks are flowing, and people are…jumping in the pool??? Oh heck! Let’s party!!!!

The Grand Exit

It’s your last hurrah! Petals, sparklers, bubbles! Leave ‘em wanting more!

Ashley + James = Engaged! A vintage Austin engagement session

Ashley and James are having their wedding this August in HAWAII!! I am so thrilled that they asked me to come along to capture what will be a sublimely romantic and sweet day! They had originally planned a San Antonio wedding, but decided to scrap those plans and opt for a destination wedding that was more their style. When they originally booked me for their stateside wedding, they were scared that I wouldn’t be up for Hawaii. AS IF! For their engagement session, they wanted to do something else that spoke to their style: a vintage-themed engagement! We hopped from spot to spot and incorporated some of the local favorites and even happened upon a classic pink car (some of you gear-heads might be able to tell me what make and model that is). Working with them for their engagement session has me seriously excited for their Hawaii destination wedding, and I cannot wait!

Vanessa + Chris! A St. Edward’s University Church wedding and Austin Club Reception

Vanessa and Chris tied the knot on December 10, 2011! Theirs was a beautiful Christmas-themed wedding, and it was a wonderful way to cap off a very successful 2011 year! They had their ceremony at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at St. Edwards University and their reception was held at The Austin Club in downtown Austin, TX. I had been excited for this wedding ever since they booked me. And it was so nice working with such a fun and kind-hearted couple. Vanessa’s bridals were some of my favorite of the year, and their wedding kept that momentum going! She smartly incorporated the theme of Christmas into her wedding tastefully, but without hesitation. I loved all of her use of the red and white throughout the wedding, from the shoes, to her beautiful anemone bouquet. We even took advantage of the red door at St. Edwards! Clare + Aaron = Engaged! A Old Settlers Park Engagement Session

Clare and Aaron are tying the knot next month at the Witte Museum in San Antonio! I had such a fun time getting to know them at their engagement session, and I’m so excited for their wedding next month! For their engagement session, Clare wanted a very rustic quintessential Texas kind of feel, so we went to Old Settlers Park up in Round Rock, TX.

Roxanne + Keith = Engaged!

Roxanne and Keith are getting married next March. While I’m bummed that I won’t get to photograph their wedding, I was pleased to be able to shoot their engagement session, hang out with them, and have a lot of laughs! Katie + George! A Hummingbird House Wedding

Katie and George had their beautiful wedding at the Hummingbird House in Austin, TX on November 19, 2011. This was one of my favorite weddings of the year! Katie and George were so easy to work with, and all of their friends and family were so much fun! The Hummingbird House is a fantastic wedding venue, and Lauren was a pleasure to work with there. I loved all of the soft natural colors and muted elegant tones that Katie designed her wedding with. Fabian Salcedo from The Flower Studio did an amazing job with the arrangements. And the cake by Simon Lee was delicious! And whoa, what a party! Dysfunkshun Junkshun kept the dance floor loud and packed! They are so awesome! Jessica + Matt! St. Wedding at Emmaus Catholic Church – Reception at Hudson’s on the Bend – private residence

Jessica and Matt had their wedding on October 22, 2011. Their ceremony was held at St. Emmaus in Austin, TX and their reception was held at the private residence of Jeff Blank, the chef/owner of Hudson’s on the Bend. I had an incredible time working with Jessica and Matt, and I’m thrilled that I am able to tell their story. And this story is a fun one, too. This wedding had it all: laughter, tears, so much love, a gospel choir, incredible food, some non-stop partying, and a dip in the pool. And now the shoutouts: Huge thanks to Barbara of Barbara’s Brides for her coordination leading up to the wedding, as well as connecting me to Jessica and Matt; also thanks to her day-of coordinator Kristi Treadwell. Wonderful job! Rochelle Rae of Rae Cosmetics did Jessica’s makeup, flawlessly, I might add. The stunning arrangements were designed by the ever amazing Bouquets of Austin. The delicious food was provided by Hudson’s on the Bend. And Johnny Robinson from Groove Labs kept the party hopping. Last but not least, thanks to Deb Robison for her brilliant job in assisting me. Melissa + Richard! Sunset Ranch wedding in Leander

Brittany and Ramsey tied the knot on October 8, 2011 at The Gardens at West Green in San Antonio, TX. When I woke up that morning, the first thing I did was check the weather…and my heart sunk a little bit. We hadn’t gotten any substantial rain in months and months – and of course, as soon as the peak wedding season rolled around, there it was. Thankfully, everyone was still in good spirits, and all of us banded together to make this a wonderful wedding, regardless of anything outside of our control. The weather seemed to cooperate when we really needed it to. And, I’d even say that we capitalized on the weather by getting a few cute umbrella shots. I loved all of Brittany’s personalized touches to make this a really special wedding for her family and friends. Danielle + Jesse! A Marquardt Ranch wedding

Danielle and Jesse tied the knot October 7, 2011 at Marquardt Ranch in Bourne, TX. This was such a fun wedding, and all the credit in the world goes to this wonderful couple! Marquardt is a beautiful venue, with tons of spots to shoot at. They did a great job with all of their DIY personal touches. Megan + Jess! A Wild Onion Ranch Wedding

Megan and Jess tied the knot back in May of 2011 at Wild Onion Ranch, and now that the photos have made their way to publication on Style Me Pretty, I am happy to share these with the world. First of all, HUUUGE thanks to Stacy Sodolak of SMS Photography for asking me to be her second shooter for this wedding! Talk about eye candy! Petal Pushers did an amazing job with the arrangements. I love the vintage look with the antique vases and jars, and the succulents were a perfect touch. Caplan Miller did the gorgeous wedding design and event coordination. And Johnny Cooper kept our toes tapping all night!
