Wow! 2011 was a really amazing year! I had some seriously fun shoots, and worked with some absolutely wonderful couples. I am still so pleased by the fact that I have such a fun job, and I am in love with what I do. I sincerely hope that it comes through in each and every photograph that I capture. Like last year, it was really difficult to narrow down to the best of the best, because every shoot and every wedding holds so many ‘favorites’ that I include on my blog. So, if you will bear with me, I narrowed it down to around 100 photos again this year, to highlight my 2011. I continue to be grateful for all of the relationships I’ve developed, the people I’ve had the opportunity to work with, and all of the incredibly magical moments that I’ve witnessed. Thank you all for your unfailing support! Here’s to an even better 2012! Peace and love.

Bridals

What a fun way to have a trial run with your hair, makeup, flowers, and gorgeous dress. Not every bride decides to have a bridal session, but for those that do, this part’s for you.

I love details! The flowers, the dress, those sexy shoes, and things that sparkle! Yes, please!

The Bride Getting Ready

This is one of my favorite parts of the wedding day. There is so much excitement and nervous energy in the bridal room. Tears flow, laughter erupts, champagne corks pop.

The Groom Getting Ready

Never to be overlooked, the wedding day is as much about the groom as it is the bride. But I can’t tell everything that goes on in the groom’s room. I’ve taken an oath. If I did tell you, I’d have to kill you.

Ceremony

Well, it’s all built up to this moment. The vows, the exchanging of the rings, the symbolism of two becoming one.

Portraiture

I do! Now let’s take some romantic, lovey, sweet, intimate, and romantic photos. Yes, I said romantic twice! I think you get the idea.

The Bridal Party

No wedding is a party unless there is an awesome group of friends to help you celebrate. It’s about having a blast, letting loose, and being there for the bride and groom on their big day.

The Cakes

I haven’t met a cake that I haven’t liked. Or cupcake. or donut. Mmmm….cake.

The First Dance

Here’s your moment. All eyes are on you. Are you going to do it up ballroom style? Classic arm in arm? Or perhaps something choreographed?

Party Time!

The party is jumping, the music is thumping, the drinks are flowing, and people are…jumping in the pool??? Oh heck! Let’s party!!!!

Vanessa’s Bridals – Bridal Session at The Neill-Cochran House

Andrea’s Bridals – Bridal Session at Laguna Gloria

Rosemary’s Bridals + Rosemary and Ari’s Post-wedding session at Laguna Gloria

Rosemary and Ari had their wedding back in late March, but we were unable to fit in her bridal session before the wedding. We collectively decided that we could do the bridals after the wedding, but then do something even more special and turn the second half of the bridal session into a post-wedding session incorporating Ari. We shot the session at the always beautiful Laguna Gloria, and the photos completely blow me away!

Laura’s Bridals – Bridal Session at One World Theatre

Laura, owner of L’s Cupcake Delivery was married over the weekend at One World Theatre, and I’m happy that I got to shoot her bridal session! She got her gorgeous dress at Blush Bridal Lounge. The ladies there do such an amazing job of helping brides find that perfect dress. And I had so much fun working with Laura, and her super cute dog Kobe. She looks absolutely stunning! Congrats!!

Hi there. What a year! Let me just start by saying that I love love my job. I have the good fortune of not only spending some intimate time with couples on the most important day of their lives, but capturing those moments for all of eternity. I have treasured the relationships that have been established with each and every bride and groom over this past year, as well as their families, and their amazing and fun friends. This blog post is incredibly difficult for me to put together, because it has been such a challenge to narrow down 25 weddings, plus bridals and engagement sessions down to less than 100 photos. I approach every single wedding with the same attention to detail, and so the list of photos to chose from is endless. But here are, what I consider to be, the most amazing photos from 2010. My apologies if your favorite isn’t in this posting. The photos I chose simply capture those moments where I looked at my camera after taking the picture and said to myself, “Whoa…did I just take that??” With that said, thank you to each and every one of you for your support in the past year, and expect even better things in 2011! The First Look

Ahh, the first look. I’m a big big fan. Sure it’s a break in tradition. But you get to see each other and get those emotions out. Capture an amazing moment. Retouch your makeup. Get those formal pics out of the way. Then, there’s no pause between your ceremony and reception. I don’t often get to capture a moment like this in a ceremony. Pure unrestrained joy.

The Bridal Party

What makes my job the most fun is working with an awesome bridal party. No ‘tudes! It’s about having a blast, letting loose, and being there for the bride and groom on their big day.

The Cakes and the Cake Cutting

Mmmm….cake. Or cupcakes. From the sweet and simple, to the towering mouth-watering eye candy, it’s your cake, it should reflect your personalities. Normally, I don’t go out of my way to blog on the cake cutting. But Bea and Peco’s cake cutting, well pardon the expression, took the cake. The reaction as she bit into a styrofoam replica of the World Cup trophy was priceless.

Cool Cars

Because no wedding is truly complete without a sweet ride.

The First Dance

All eyes are on you. Are you going to do it up ballroom style? Classic arm in arm? Or perhaps something choreographed?

Party Time!

Sandy’s Bridals – Bridal Session at Laguna Gloria

Amber’s Bridals – Bridal Session at Mayfield Park

Amber and Nick had their wedding this weekend down in New Braunfels, Texas. This was such an amazing wedding, full of fun, love and so much happiness. I had *the best* time working with Amber and Nick, and consider myself blessed to not only have them as neighbors but to call them my friends. I have been on pins and needles wanting to share Amber’s beautiful bridal portraits with the world, and now that their wedding is over, you all can enjoy them! We did this session at Mayfield Park, near Laguna Gloria. Mayfield is a wonderful place to shoot because, not only is it gorgeous, it’s free. FREE!

Lacey’s Bridals – Bridal Session @ Laguna Gloria

Lacey and Lee had their wedding at Texas Old Town over the weekend, and while those wedding photos are coming soon, I have been dying to post Lacey’s bridal portrait photos! We did the session at the always gorgeous Laguna Gloria. Lacey was such a pleasure to work with…a little nervous and shy at first, but she quickly warmed up to the camera, especially once I showed her how stunning a bride she was! Congrats, Lacey! Dominique’s Bridals – Bridal Session @ Laguna Gloria

Dominique had her wedding in San Antonio, on August 21, 2010. I wasn’t able to be her wedding photographer, but I was still able to to do her bridal portrait session at the beautiful Laguna Gloria. Dominique purchased her dress from my favorite gals, Erica and Amanda at Blush Bridal Lounge. For all you dress junkies, hers was the Enzoani Diana. I love loved how vintage-looking it was! Her gorgeous flower bouquet complete with peacock feathers was designed by Whole Foods Market. Congrats Dominique! You look stunning!

Haley had her wedding in Alabama on June 26, 2010. I wasn’t able to be her wedding photographer, but I was still able to to do her bridal portrait session at the beautiful Laguna Gloria. Haley purchased her dress from my favorite gals, Erica and Amanda at Blush Bridal Lounge. For all you dress junkies, hers was the Saison Blanche Couture #3064. Her gorgeous flower bouquet was designed by Central Market. Congrats Haley!

Amy’s Bridals – Bridal session @ The Barr Mansion

So, I just got home photographing Chris and Amy’s wedding, and so now I’m finally posting her bridals! We’ve both been on pins and needles wanting to share them with everyone. Tonight’s wedding was A-MAZ-ING, but you’ll get to hear more about that in a few days. We shot her bridals at the Barr Mansion in Austin (where she held her reception). I love LOVE the vintage feel of the Barr…there are so many good places to shoot over there. For all of you dress shoppers, hers was was the Casablanca 1900. Amy is such a pleasure to work with…absolutely gorgeous and the sweetest person you will ever meet. Congrats, Amy! You’re beautiful!!

Claudia’s Bridals – Bridal Session @ Laguna Gloria

Claudia’s wedding was this past weekend, so now I can *finally* post the images! We had to reschedule 3 times due to the rain, and I’m so glad we were able to shoot at Laguna Gloria in Austin. I absolutely photographing love it there. She brought her cute little dog Wrigley along, so I was able to snap a few photos of the two of them together. All I had to do was say the word “treat” and his head would perk right up…well, he kind of got used to it after a while, and realized that we were actually treatless. Such a sweet lil’ pup! I’m so glad that Claudia chose me to be her photographer! I had a wonderful time working with Claudia and her mom, and I think the images came out awesome! I hope you love them!

Teara’s Bridals – Bridal session @ The Waterford House

I shot these bridals at the Waterford House on May 29, 2009. The Waterford is a new wedding venue down near Slaughter Lane in South Austin. Teara was pretty shy when we first started the session. I showed her a few pictures, and she started to warm up. And then we found the red chair! She wanted a really sexy one to show her fiance…and naturally I obliged! This was my first time working a shoot with someone who was hearing impaired. Very challenging for a photographer. Both her and her mom were very patient and understanding as I fumbled through my communication…mainly resorting to acting out the poses for her. But we all had a blast!
